AAT Level 3 Bookkeeping Course in Leicester. Classes run at Leicester College City Skills Centre, part-time during the day. To enrol, you'll need GCSEs at Grade 4 or above in English and maths, plus a Level 2 AAT Bookkeeping qualification. The course runs over 18 weeks and covers advanced bookkeeping transactions, preparing financial statements, and VAT returns. You'll also develop skills in digital bookkeeping software. These level 3 aat bookkeeping classes build on your existing knowledge and give you formal recognition of your skills.

Entry requirements

To enrol on this course you will need GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above in English and maths, and level 2 AAT Bookkeeping. You will also need to provide one reference which can be provided by your employer or previous education establishment. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance.

What you will learn

  • You'll prepare statements of profit or loss for sole traders and partnerships.
  • You'll produce statements of financial position using a trial balance.
  • You'll apply double-entry bookkeeping to record financial transactions manually.
  • You'll understand and prepare VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
  • You'll develop knowledge of payroll and VAT compliance for businesses.
  • You'll use digital bookkeeping software to support accounting tasks.

How you will learn

You'll attend classroom-based sessions at Leicester College City Skills Centre, running from 9:30am to 5:00pm. Learning is delivered through taught units covering financial accounting and tax processes. Assessment is through AAT's set assessments for each unit. You'll complete these assessments as you progress through the course.
