‘Champissage’ The traditional name for Indian Head Massage, a treatment given to the seated and clothed client. You will learn about the history of Indian Head Massage with practical massage techniques covering the back and shoulders, arms, neck, scalp and face.
This is an excellent massage course to start with if you are thinking of training as a holistic therapist and don’t know where to start. It’s also a fantastic add on for those who have existing massage skills.

What you will learn
You'll learn the history and origins of Indian head massage, including its traditional name 'Champissage'.
You'll practise practical massage techniques on the back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp and face.
You'll study anatomy and physiology of the head and neck.
You'll apply consultation techniques and assess contra-indications and contra-actions.
You'll understand the physical and psychological effects of Indian head massage.
You'll explore the use of massage oils, chakras, auras and relaxation techniques.
You'll carry out case studies, treating real clients to build practical experience.
How you will learn
Learning is classroom based at Omni Academy of Beauty. You'll complete nine assignments (including four anatomy and physiology assignments), nine case studies treating three clients across three sessions, one online exam, and three practical assessments. Classes run 9.30am to 4.30pm across two days, with assessments completed alongside or after the taught days.
