About this course

Level 3 Swedish Massage Course in Walton-on-Thames. Classes run at Omni Academy of Beauty, part-time during the day. The course runs over 6 weeks and covers the full body, including scalp, head, neck, and trunk. No prior training is required. You'll learn professional massage techniques to relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, support lymphatic drainage, and reduce stress. The course also covers anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client consultation, and aftercare. This swedish massage qualification is available through an Advanced Learner Loan.

Who this course is for

This is the first stage and most commonly used qualification type for body massage, providing an excellent platform for further learning. The object of this qualification is to perform a full body massage in a safe and effective manner for the relief of muscle tension, improved circulation, lymphatic drainage and stress relief. On completion of the four day massage course you will be able to carry out a full-body massage using professional techniques.

Our Swedish massage course covers the full body including the scalp, head and neck, also demonstrating the use of infra-red lamp, gyratory machines and audio-sonic vibration.

What you will learn

  • You'll perform a full-body Swedish massage using professional techniques.
  • You'll study anatomy and physiology relevant to massage therapy.
  • You'll apply hygiene, health and safety practices in a treatment setting.
  • You'll carry out client consultations and provide aftercare advice.
  • You'll use specialist equipment including infra-red lamps, gyratory machines, and audio-sonic vibration devices.
  • You'll complete case studies, treating multiple clients across a range of sessions.
  • You'll demonstrate safe and effective techniques for stress relief, muscle tension, and circulation.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at the centre. Assessment includes 5 written assignments (one covering anatomy and physiology), 9 case studies across 3 clients, 2 online exams, and 4 practical assessments. Classes run on weekday daytimes, typically 9.30am to 4.30pm. The course is completed over 4 teaching days plus separate assessment sessions.
