Level 2 MIG Welding Course in Northampton. Evening mig welding classes run at Northampton College, part-time over 9 weeks. Funding may be available for learners aged 19 or over, depending on your age and qualifications already held. Fees may apply for others. You must bring your Level 1 pass certificate to enrolment, and you'll have a discussion with your tutor before the course starts to agree which welding process you'll study. You'll practise and be assessed on your chosen process during the course.
Who this course is for
This evening based course will provide you with a City and Guilds 3268 Level 2 VRQ in a number of welding processes, each process to be chosen by the you, at the outset of the course.
It should be noted that the course fee, registration and certification fee covers only one of the welding process. Arrangements can be made for those who successfully complete their first process within the nine weeks and wish to pay the fee to enrol for an additional process.
During this course you will be able to:
produce welds in either flat/horizontal or vertical
work with specified materials, thicknesses and tolerances
produce flat plate and cylindrical

The Awards and Certificates could help you develop your welding and fabrication career further and take on jobs that require more specialist skills. After successful completion of this qualification you can progress on to a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering or a Level 3 Award in Advanced Welding. You must show your Level 1 pass certificate at enrolment. All students will be required to be interviewed prior to enrolling onto the course and during your discussion you will agree the best process choice for you with your tutor.

How you will learn
You'll learn through hands-on practical work in the workshop during evening sessions. Assessment is practical and based on the welding process you choose at the start of the course. Your tutor will agree the process with you before you begin. The course covers one welding process within the 9 weeks. If you complete early and wish to study an additional process, you can arrange to enrol for a further process at an additional fee.
