Level 1 MIG Welding Course in Northampton. Evening classes run at Northampton College, part-time over 9 weeks. Fees may apply, though a discount may be available if you're on state benefits or a low wage. A £30 materials fee applies to all students. This is a hands-on, practical mig welding course run entirely in the workshop. You'll practise producing welds in flat and horizontal positions, working with specified materials, thicknesses, and tolerances. There are no formal entry requirements, so you don't need previous welding experience to join.

Who this course is for

This practical course provides the opportunity to learn how to weld or develop existing welding skills in all of the common welding processes.

The course is entirely practical in the workshop.

After completing the course students can study for a Welding Technical Certificate combining both theory and practical studies. The Awards and Certificates could help you develop your welding and fabrication career and take on jobs that require basic skills. How you will learn

All learning takes place in the workshop through practical exercises. You'll be assessed on your ability to produce welds that meet specified standards for position, material, and tolerance. There is no written exam. Assessment is based on the welds you produce during the course.
