Level 2 MIG Welding Course in Daventry. Evening mig welding classes run at Northampton College at Daventry, one evening a week over 9 weeks. Funding may be available for learners aged 19 or over, depending on age and qualifications already held. Fees may apply for others. You choose your welding process at the start of the course, and your tutor helps you pick the right one for your goals. You must bring your Level 1 pass certificate to enrolment and attend an interview before joining.
Who this course is for
This evening based course will provide you with a City and Guilds 3268 Level 2 VRQ in a number of welding processes, each process to be chosen by the you, at the outset of the course.
It should be noted that the course fee, registration and certification fee covers only one of the welding process. Arrangements can be made for those who successfully complete their first process within the nine weeks and wish to pay the fee to enrol for an additional process.
During this course you will be able to:
produce welds in either flat/horizontal or vertical
work with specified materials, thicknesses and tolerances
produce flat plate and cylindrical

You'll learn through hands-on practical work in a classroom-based workshop setting. Assessment is practical, based on the welding work you produce during the course. Your tutor will assess your technique and the quality of your welds against the requirements of the City and Guilds 3268 Level 2 VRQ. You agree your chosen welding process with your tutor at the interview before the course begins.
