Level 2 Counselling Course in Leyland. Classes run at Runshaw College, part-time during the day, over 17 weeks. Fee remission may be available depending on your circumstances; contact Runshaw College directly to find out what applies to you. This counselling qualification focuses on listening and counselling skills, teaching you how to hear what someone is really saying and respond from their point of view. You build your skills through a portfolio of work, which suits the part-time daytime pace well. You'll need GCSE English at grade 4 or above, or an equivalent qualification, to join.
Who this course is for
Adults (19+). Counselling Skills involve the ability to listen to another person and hear exactly what they are trying to say, from their point of view. This portfolio based course is designed for those who want to learn listening/counselling skills to help others, either in a voluntary or employed capacity, or those who want to find out more about this field.
Entry requirements
Applicants should hold English GCSE grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent. This is to support the oral/written skills and requirements of this course. If an applicant does not hold this qualification a diagnostic assessment will be carried out to ascertain the level at which they are working, a minimum of Level 2 is an entry requirement for this course. Furthermore, if you have already undergone some counselling skills training or use counselling skills in your employment, this would be an advantage.
