Functional Skills English Level 2 in Earlswood. Classes run at Floorskills Training Centre on a day or block release basis. Who this course is for
Functional Skills Level 1 in English delivered as part of Apprenticeship Programme.
Level 2 is offered to learners without an equivalent qualification with an existing Level 1 qualification.
At level 2 students will complete the Speaking and Listening element which will involve x1 discussions in a group of 3-5 people and preparation for the speaking elements involving Formal and a planned presentation by the student, both will be assessed as part of the Functional Skill qualification. Exemptions can be used for this element of the framework where eqivalent qualifications are at the correct level to check that learners are meeting the eligibilty criteria for exemptions and that they are going to be accepted by Apprenticeship Certificates England. Floorskills has a dedicated Tutor for the delivery of Functional skills and scheduled delivery dates are planned into the programme. Mock tests are undertaken for preparation and to gage the level the student is currently at.
Entry requirements
Initial Assessments will be carried out at Induction on both English and Maths, this will determine the level. Diagnostic assessment will then be completed to highligh any development areas, the Tutor will draw up an assessment plan to work towards these goals in preparation for the tests.
