This Rail Engineering Programme is designed for anyone who wishes to work as a Railway Engineer.
To complete your Rail Engineering (Operative) level 2, youll need to build a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence as an engineer. This may involve things such as risk assessments, briefings, work completion reports, and a safe system of work plans. The Rail Engineering (Operative) level 2, is a great qualification to have and is comparable in academic level to GCSEs. Its a significant piece of work, but with the support of our experienced tutors, it makes the qualification easily obtainable for aspiring Railway Engineers. Our qualification is accredited by ETA. Must be prepared to work outside in all weathers.
To enrol onto this course you must be aged 19 years or older on 31st August. See the entry requirements section for full details.
If you are 16-19 years old these activities will be timetabled as will work experience and placement. You can also choose to take part in other activities. For other age groups, activities will be tailored to your needs.

What you could study next
Once you hold the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, you could progress to the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, which covers a broader range of emergencies and is valid for three years. From there, some workplaces require the full First Aid at Work Requalification. If you work in a specific sector, look at paediatric first aid qualifications for childcare settings, or NEBOSH and IOSH courses if you want to move into a broader health and safety role.
