Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health Course in Nottingham. Classes run at Training & Assessment Consultants over two days. You'll learn to recognise the signs and triggers of common mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, and eating disorders. The course covers how to support someone in distress, non-judgmental listening, and how to guide people toward appropriate help. There are no entry requirements. This is a practical, classroom-based first aid for mental health qualification suited to anyone supporting others at work or in a community setting.
Who this course is for
This Course is aimed at staff that are responsible for others. With the Purpose of gaining a strong understanding of mental health and how to spot signs early. The course will also provide advice and strategies of how to build a better support system in the work place

What you will learn
You'll identify early warning signs of depression, anxiety, psychosis, and other mental health conditions.
You'll apply the Mental Health First Aid action plan when supporting someone in crisis.
You'll practise non-judgmental listening to reassure and support a person in distress.
You'll understand how alcohol and drugs interact with mental health conditions.
You'll know how to respond to suicidal crisis and self-harm situations.
You'll guide people toward appropriate support, including NHS services, employer resources, and self-help.
You'll recognise the impact of stigma and discrimination on mental health.
How you will learn
The course is delivered face-to-face over two full days in a classroom setting. Learning is interactive, covering group discussion, case studies, and practical scenarios. Assessment is based on participation and demonstration of understanding throughout the two days. There is no written exam.

The centre will provide most materials. Training & Assessment Consultants will confirm anything else you need before you start.
