Level 2 Manual Handling Course in Nottingham. Classes run at Training & Assessment Consultants. There are no entry requirements, so you can join without prior experience or qualifications. The course covers manual handling legislation, safe lifting techniques, posture, load assessment, and injury prevention. It runs as a half-day session, so you can fit it around work or other commitments. A level 2 manual handling qualification is recognised across construction, warehousing, retail, and many other sectors where lifting and carrying are part of the job.
Who this course is for
This course provides knowledge and understanding on legislation involved with manual handling and provides demonstration and understanding on the correct and safe techniques to use.

What you will learn
You'll understand what manual handling is and why injuries occur
You'll learn the key requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
You'll learn how to assess a load before lifting or moving it
You'll practise correct lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling techniques
You'll understand how posture affects injury risk
You'll learn about common manual handling injuries and the anatomy behind them
You'll be introduced to the MAC (Manual Handling Assessment Charts) process
How you will learn
The course combines classroom instruction, demonstration, and a practical session. You'll watch techniques demonstrated and then practise them yourself. Assessment is by observation during the practical element. The session runs for approximately half a day.
