About this course

Free Level 3 Customer Service Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You learn while you work, combining on-the-job experience with structured training over 15 months. This free customer service course for adults covers the knowledge and skills needed to handle customer interactions confidently and consistently. You'll develop practical competence in real customer service situations, working toward a City and Guilds qualification. To start, you should ideally have five GCSEs at grade C or above, or have completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Who this course is for

The Customer Service Apprenticeship reflects the ability to select and use relevant knowledge, ideas, skills and procedures to complete well-defined tasks and address straightforward problems. It includes taking responsibility for completing tasks and procedures against performance objectives or criteria.

An Apprenticeship is a vocational, work-based programme that demonstrates competence and knowledge. With a combination of on-the-job training and assessments, and training through an approved body, Apprenticeships demonstrate the individual's competence to do a job to a national standard. In addition to the core Apprenticeship requirements, there are separate requirements which include, Maths, English, ICT, Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).

Progression from a Level 3 qualification and onto employment as a customer service administrator for applicants who successfully complete the course

Entry requirements

To start this programme, you should ideally have five GCSEs (Grade C or above) or have completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship.

How you will learn

You learn through a combination of on-the-job training and workplace assessments. A trained assessor will observe you working and review evidence of your competence. You'll also complete knowledge-based elements alongside your practical work. Assessment is ongoing throughout the 15-month programme, measuring your performance against set criteria in your day-to-day role.
