Free Level 2 Mental Health Awareness Course in Rotherham. Classes run at CTS Training (Manvers - Rotherham) during the day. This free mental health awareness course is government-funded through the ESFA and runs over 12 hours. You'll build an understanding of mental health conditions, how to recognise signs of distress, and how to support people effectively. The course is open to 16 to 19 year olds, or 19 to 24 year olds with an Education, Health Care Plan. It suits school leavers and those returning to study after a break.

Or 19-24 with an Education, Health Care Plan, have evidence that you legally reside in the UK, are you a school leaver who didnt quite get the grades when you left school at or before year 11 or sixth form or college? No matter how well you did prior, we can help you get where you want to be on a CTS Study Programme to help you gain the qualifications & confidence you may need for the future.
What you will learn
You'll identify common mental health conditions and their symptoms.
You'll recognise signs that someone may be struggling with their mental health.
You'll understand the impact mental health has on daily life and relationships.
You'll explore ways to support someone experiencing a mental health difficulty.
You'll learn about the importance of reducing stigma around mental health.
You'll discover when and how to signpost people to professional help.
How you will learn
You'll study in a classroom at the centre, with tutor-led sessions and group discussion. Learning is flexible, so the centre will work with you on how sessions fit around your needs. Assessment is through a short written or knowledge-based test set by Highfield. Your tutor will prepare you for this during the course.
