Free Level 2 Mental Health Awareness Course in Sheffield. Classes run at CTS Training Sheffield, during the day with flexible study. This free mental health awareness course is a government-funded programme for learners aged 16 to 19 years old, or 19 to 24 years old with an Education, Health Care Plan. Over 12 hours of classroom-based mental health awareness classes, you'll build an understanding of common mental health conditions, how they affect people, and how to respond with care and confidence.

***RECRUITING NOW for 2025/2026*** - Are you aged 16-19? Or 19-24 with an Education, Health Care Plan, have evidence that you legally reside in the UK, are you a school leaver who didnt quite get the grades when you left school at or before year 11 or sixth form or college? No matter how well you did prior, we can help you get where you want to be on a CTS Study Programme to help you gain the qualifications & confidence you may need for the future.

What you will learn

  • You'll identify a range of common mental health conditions and their key features.
  • You'll understand how mental health conditions can affect daily life and relationships.
  • You'll recognise signs that someone may be experiencing a mental health difficulty.
  • You'll explore approaches to supporting someone in a mental health crisis.
  • You'll learn about the importance of reducing stigma around mental health.
  • You'll understand where people can access professional mental health support.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at CTS Training Sheffield. Teaching is delivered face to face, with group discussion and tutor-led activities. Assessment is through a short knowledge-based test or written questions, in line with the Highfield Award specification. No coursework portfolio is required for this qualification.
