About this course

Free Level 2 Diploma Plumbing Course in Bradford. Classes run full-time during the day at Bradford College. Note that if you are 16 to 18 years old, a fee may apply. Check with Bradford College to confirm your funding position before you enrol. Over one year, you'll develop the practical and technical skills needed to work in plumbing and heating. The course covers central heating systems, boiler repairs, bathroom installation, pipework, and energy efficiency. There is a strong focus on environmental awareness, which is increasingly important to employers. You could go on to work for yourself or move into industrial and utilities work.

Who this course is for

Our City and Guilds Level 2 course gives you the skills needed to secure a job in plumbing and the Construction and Engineering industry. Much like electrical, you can chose to work for yourself, fitting central heating, repairing boilers and putting new bathrooms in – or you can take advantage of our partnerships with utilities companies and go to the industrial side of things and specialise in fitting pipework. With a big focus on energy efficiency and the environment, there’s never been a better time to train as a modern plumber.

What you will learn

  • You'll install and repair central heating systems
  • You'll fit pipework to industry standards
  • You'll carry out bathroom installations
  • You'll diagnose and repair boiler faults
  • You'll apply energy efficiency principles to plumbing work
  • You'll work safely and in line with current regulations
  • You'll understand the environmental impact of heating and water systems

How you will learn

You'll learn through a mix of classroom teaching and hands-on practical work in a workshop environment. Assessment includes practical tasks where you demonstrate your skills, as well as written tests to check your technical knowledge. Bradford College will assess your progress throughout the course rather than through a single end exam.

What you will need to bring

The centre will provide most materials. Bradford College will confirm anything else you need before you start.
