About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Nottingham. Classes run at Inspire College at Hucknall Young People's Centre, full-time during the day.

The course runs for one year. You'll build job-seeking skills and gain work experience to help you move into a traineeship, internship, or apprenticeship. Maths and English are also part of the programme. You'll need a Level 1 entry point to join.

You'll finish with an AIM Qualifications Extended Certificate in Employability Skills.

Who this course is for

This is a level 1 qualification in employability for 16-19 year olds (or up to 24 with learning difficulty) which is delivered at Hucknall Library. The study programme provides activities to improve young peoples' job seeking skills, and provides work experience that prepares learners to move on to a traineeship, internship or apprenticeship. Our students will also study maths and english. The student will also be able to apply for a bursary and to claim student travel.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions and practical work experience. Assessment is based on coursework and activities completed throughout the year. Your progress is reviewed regularly to make sure you're on track. Maths and English are taught alongside your employability studies.
