About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Eastwood. Classes run at Eastwood Young People's Centre, full-time during the day.

The course runs over one year. You'll build practical job-seeking skills and gain work experience to help you move into a traineeship, internship, or apprenticeship. Maths and English are also part of the programme. You may be able to apply for a bursary and claim help with travel costs.

You'll finish with an AIM Qualifications Extended Certificate in Employability Skills.

Who this course is for

This is a level 1 qualification in employability for 16-19 year olds (or up to 24 with learning difficulty) which is delivered at Eastwood YPC. The study programme provides activities to improve young peoples' job seeking skills, and provides work experience that prepares learners to move on to a traineeship, internship or apprenticeship. Our students will also study maths and English. The student will also be able to apply for a bursary and to claim student travel.

How you will learn

You'll study in a classroom at Eastwood Young People's Centre. Learning is delivered full-time during the day. Assessment includes coursework and practical tasks that reflect real workplace situations. Work experience placements form part of the course.

The centre will provide most materials. Eastwood Young People's Centre will confirm anything else you need before you start.
