About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Stapleford. Classes run at Stapleford Young People's Centre, full-time during the day.

The course runs over one year. You'll build the job-seeking skills employers look for. Units cover CV writing, interview preparation, workplace behaviour, and work experience. You'll also study maths and English alongside your employability skills classes. The course is for 16 to 19 year olds, or up to 24 years old for learners with a learning difficulty.

You'll finish with an AIM Qualifications Extended Certificate in Employability Skills at Level 1.

Who this course is for

This is a level 2 qualification in employability for 16-19 year olds (or up to 24 with learning difficulty) which is delivered at Stapleford YPC. The study programme provides activities to improve young peoples' job seeking skills, and provides work experience that prepares learners to move on to a traineeship, internship or apprenticeship. Our students will also study maths and English. The student will also be able to apply for a bursary and to claim student travel.

You'll learn in a classroom at Stapleford Young People's Centre. Teaching covers practical job-seeking activities alongside maths and English study. Work experience is part of the programme. Assessment is through coursework and practical tasks completed during the year.
