About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Sutton-in-Ashfield. Classes run at Inspire Learning, full-time during the day.

The course runs for one year. You'll build the practical skills employers look for, including job searching, writing applications, and preparing for interviews. The course also covers maths and English to support your progress. Work experience is included, giving you a chance to practise in a real workplace setting.

You'll finish with an AIM Qualifications Extended Certificate in Employability Skills.

Who this course is for

This is a level 1 qualification in employability for 16-19 year olds (or up to 24 with learning difficulty) which is delivered at myplace @ Westfield Folkhouse - Mansfield. The study programme provides activities to improve young peoples' job seeking skills, and provides work experience that prepares learners to move on to a traineeship, internship or apprenticeship. Our students will also study maths and English. The student will also be able to apply for a bursary and to claim student travel.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions and practical activities at Inspire Learning. Work experience placements are part of the programme. Assessment is ongoing and based on the work you produce throughout the course, including tasks and activities that reflect real workplace situations.
