About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Mansfield. Classes run at Myplace at Westfield Folkhouse, full-time during the day.

The course runs for one year. You'll build practical job-seeking skills and gain work experience. Units cover CV writing, interview preparation, workplace behaviour, and communication. You'll also study maths and English alongside the main programme. The course is for 16 to 19 years old, or up to 24 years old with a learning difficulty.

You'll finish with an AIM Qualifications Extended Certificate in Employability Skills at Level 1.

Who this course is for

This is a level 2 qualification in employability for 16-19 year olds (or up to 24 with learning difficulty) which is delivered at myplace @ Westfield Folkhouse - Mansfield. The study programme provides activities to improve young peoples' job seeking skills, and provides work experience that prepares learners to move on to a traineeship, internship or apprenticeship. Our students will also study maths and English. The student will also be able to apply for a bursary and to claim student travel.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions and practical work experience. Assessment is through coursework and portfolio evidence gathered over the year. Your tutor will support you throughout and help you track your progress.

The centre will provide most materials. Myplace at Westfield Folkhouse will confirm anything else you need before you start.
