About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Course in Ealing. Classes run at Ealing Green College, full-time during the day.

The course runs over one year. You'll explore a vocational area of your choice, spending time in a mainstream vocational class. Options include Health and Social Care, Business and Admin, ICT, Construction, Sports and Public Services, Art and Design, and Media. Alongside your vocational study, you'll develop work-related and personal skills. English and maths are part of the programme too, and there may be a chance to do work experience with an employer.

You'll need at least two GCSEs at grade 1 in English and maths to join. You'll finish with a Level 1 Certificate in Employability.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions, vocational classes, and practical activities. Assessment is by portfolio. Your portfolio will include written coursework, photographs, video, witness statements, and personal statements. Portfolios are assessed internally and then verified externally. Most learners are also entered for GCSE or Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths at the level identified during their initial assessment.
