Level 1 Employability Course in Hounslow. Classes run at MIT Skills West London, full-time during the day.

The course builds the skills employers look for. You'll cover communication, teamwork, and oral presentation as core units. Optional units include customer care, health and safety, financial literacy, and work experience. Around 70 hours of study in total.

There are no formal entry requirements. You'll finish with a NOCN Level 1 Award in Employability.

Who this course is for

The NOCN Level 1 Award and Certificate in Employability are aimed at those learners who:

  • are preparing to enter employment for the first time or are unemployed and seeking to improve their employability for a return to work;
  • are not in education or training;
  • are serving, or have recently served, a custodial or community sentence and need intensive preparation for employment.

Entry requirements

The minimum age for access to the qualification is 16 because the qualifications are focused on preparation for entering employment. There are no formal entry requirements for learners undertaking this qualification

Assessment is through coursework and practical tasks linked to each unit. You must achieve a minimum of 7 credits across the mandatory and optional groups to complete the qualification.
