About this course

GCSE Maths in Newhaven. Classes run at Newhaven Marine Workshop Campus on Thursday mornings, part-time over 30 weeks.

The course is free for some learners, and fees may apply for others. You'll study number skills, algebra, fractions, percentages, ratios, geometry, probability, and data handling. Most students sit the foundation tier exams, though the higher tier is also available. How you will learn

Classes are classroom based, running on Thursday mornings at Newhaven Marine Workshop Campus. You'll build skills progressively, starting with calculations and problem-solving before moving into more complex topics. Assessment is by three written exams at the end of the course. One paper is non-calculator; two are calculator papers. Each exam lasts 90 minutes. Your scores from all three papers are combined to give your final grade.
