About this course

Free Functional Skills English Level 1 Course. Study online. You can work through the course at your own pace, fitting study around your other commitments. Over 18 weeks, you'll build your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to Level 1 standard. A Level 1 functional skills english qualification is recognised by employers and colleges across the UK. When employers ask for GCSE English or equivalent, this is the qualification that meets that requirement. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you.
