Free Entry Level ESOL Skills for Life (reading) Course in Wandsworth. Classes run at LIBS Training. Daytime sessions run part-time, so you can fit study around other commitments. This entry level ESOL skills for life (reading) course focuses on everyday reading in English: letters from your GP or your child's school, basic forms, health and safety notices, and transport information. You'll also build vocabulary and practise using a dictionary. The course runs for 48 hours in total. Before you start, you'll complete an initial assessment; you'll need to show reading ability at Entry Level 2 or be working toward Entry Level 3.

Who this course is for

This course is for individuals that have little or some English reading skills. You will learn how to read simple English to help you go about your daily life. You will learn how to read basic forms, use a dictionary, read a letter from your surgery and any letters from your child�s school. You will be able to read basic health & safety and transport information.

Entry requirements

You will need to complete an initial assessment before registration on the course. You must have achieved an Entry Level 2 ESOL Reading qualification (or equivalent), prior to the course or score at working to Entry level 3 in your initial assessment.

How you will learn

You'll study in a classroom at LIBS Training, with daytime sessions run on a part-time basis. Learning is built around everyday reading tasks and texts. Assessment is through tasks and activities that reflect real reading situations, covering the skills set out in the Entry Level 3 qualification. Your initial assessment helps place you at the right level before the course begins.
