We offer a range of English Courses and qualifications to suit your needs and help you to gain skills to increase your employment prospects at a pace and time to suit you. You can improve your English skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification from Entry 1 up to Level 2. These can provide a stepping stone towards an English Language GCSE.

What you will learn

  • You'll learn to identify the main points in spoken and written English.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre during evening sessions. Learning is part-time, so you progress at a manageable pace. Assessment for the NOCN Award in English Skills is through tasks and activities that reflect real reading, writing, speaking, and listening situations. Your tutor will guide you through each area and confirm how assessment works at your initial skills check.
