Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths in Scarborough. Evening classes run at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. The course runs for 18 weeks part-time. You'll build practical maths skills covering number, measure, and handling data. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll understand and use simple fractions and percentages in everyday contexts.
You'll read and interpret straightforward data presented in tables, charts, and diagrams.
You'll use measures including length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll solve practical maths problems using the skills covered in the course.
You'll develop the number skills needed to progress to a Functional Skills Maths Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, with a tutor guiding you through each topic. Assessment is through a written exam set by City and Guilds. There is no coursework portfolio for this qualification. Your tutor will prepare you for the exam throughout the 18 weeks.
