To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll understand and use fractions and simple percentages in everyday contexts.
You'll read, measure, and compare lengths, weights, capacity, and temperatures.
You'll work with money, including calculating costs, change, and simple budgets.
You'll read and interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll understand and use time, including reading timetables and calculating durations.
You'll solve straightforward maths problems using the skills above.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom setting with a tutor, working through practical maths tasks and exercises. Assessment is by a formal written exam set by City and Guilds. You'll also complete an on-screen or paper-based test covering the skills taught on the course. Your tutor will prepare you for the assessment throughout the 18 weeks.
