About this course

Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • You'll use fractions and recognise simple percentages in everyday contexts.
  • You'll handle money, including calculating costs, change, and simple budgets.
  • You'll read and use measurements for length, weight, capacity, and time.
  • You'll interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll solve straightforward maths problems in real everyday situations.

How you will learn

Classes are classroom based and run in the evening. You'll learn through tutor-led sessions, group work, and practice activities. Assessment is through a written external test set by City and Guilds. You'll also complete an initial assessment at enrolment so the centre can confirm Entry Level 3 is the right level for you and plan your learning from there.
