Free Entry Level 3 English Skills course in Scarborough. Evening classes run at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around your week. The course covers reading, writing, speaking, and listening at Entry Level 3. It runs over 55 hours part-time. Assessment is portfolio-based, with no formal exam. You must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher English qualification.

This course is for people who want to improve their English skills gain a qualification in English without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 3 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment
What you will learn
You'll read and understand everyday texts, including letters, forms, and short articles.
You'll write clearly for common purposes such as messages, notes, and simple documents.
You'll spell and punctuate accurately at Entry Level 3.
You'll listen and respond in straightforward conversations and discussions.
You'll speak clearly to communicate information and ask questions.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service. Assessment is ongoing and portfolio-based. There is no formal written exam. You'll build a collection of evidence from tasks and activities completed during the course, which is used to award the qualification.
