Free Entry Level 3 English Skills in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. You'll build your reading, writing, and communication skills over 55 hours of part-time classroom learning. No exam is required to gain your qualification. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm Entry Level 3 English Skills is the right starting point, and the centre will use it to plan your learning. Note: you must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher English qualification to be eligible.
Who this course is for
This course is for people who want to improve their English skills gain a qualification in English without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 3 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment

You'll write clearly for different purposes, such as messages, forms, and short notes.
You'll use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in your writing.

How you will learn
Learning takes place in the classroom through tutor-led sessions and group activities. Assessment is portfolio-based rather than by exam. You'll build a collection of work that shows your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Your tutor will guide you through each task and give feedback as you go.
