Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths in Grays. Classes run at TCHC Thurrock GAPS Centre. You must be enrolled on a vocational qualification at one of the GAPS centres to join this course. The course covers three areas: using numbers and the number system, working with measures, shape and space, and handling data. You'll also get support with cost-of-living budgeting. The course runs over 55 hours of daytime classroom study. Assessment includes a calculator and a non-calculator exam. This entry level functional skills maths qualification is offered to young people aged 16 to 18, and those aged 16 to 24 with an EHCP.

What you will learn
You'll work with numbers and the number system, including counting, ordering, and basic calculations.
You'll use common measures such as length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll explore shape and space, including recognising and describing 2D and 3D shapes.
You'll handle and interpret data, including reading charts, tables, and simple graphs.
You'll apply maths to everyday situations, including budgeting and managing costs.
How you will learn
You'll study in a classroom at TCHC Thurrock GAPS Centre during the day. Learning covers three areas of maths through taught sessions and practice. Assessment is by two exams: one where you can use a calculator and one where you cannot. Both exams are taken at the end of the course.
