About this course

Free Entry Level 1 Maths Course in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service, so you can fit study around your week. This is a free maths course for adults aged 19 or over who want to build their maths skills and gain a maths qualification without sitting a formal exam. You must not already hold an Entry Level 1 or higher maths qualification. The course runs over 55 hours, part-time. You'll earn a City and Guilds Certificate in Mathematics Skills (Entry 1) when you complete the course.

Who this course is for

This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 1 level or higher qualification.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at

What you will learn

Learning takes place in the classroom during evening sessions. You'll be assessed through coursework and practical tasks rather than a formal exam. Your tutor will track your progress through the activities and work you complete during the course.
