Entry requirements

Must meet all funding eligbility requirements, including:

  • Age 19+ on 31/08/25
  • Live in a Tees Valley Postcode
  • Not in any other form of funded training
  • Must meet all residency criteria to access funded training.

  • You'll write simple sentences using basic punctuation
  • You'll communicate clearly in everyday speaking and listening tasks
  • You'll follow and give simple instructions
  • You'll recognise and use common words in reading and writing

How you will learn

Learning is blended. You'll study online and attend daytime sessions at B-Skill Darlington. Assessment is through tasks and activities set by the centre, covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening. You'll be assessed at Entry Level 1 standard, and your tutor will track your progress throughout the 15 weeks.
