To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

  • You'll speak clearly to communicate basic needs and information.
  • You'll identify the main points in everyday written materials such as signs, forms, and notices.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Northallerton Adult Education during evening sessions. Assessment is through tasks that reflect everyday reading, writing, speaking, and listening situations. You'll be assessed on your ability to complete these tasks at Entry Level 1. There is no formal written exam in the traditional sense; assessment is task-based and carried out as part of your learning.
