Or 19-24 with an Education, Health Care Plan, have evidence that you legally reside in the UK, are you a school leaver who didnt quite get the grades when you left school at or before year 11 or sixth form or college? No matter how well you did prior, we can help you get where you want to be on a CTS Study Programme to help you gain the qualifications & confidence you may need for the future.

What you will learn

  • You'll read and understand simple texts used in everyday life.
  • You'll write simple sentences with basic punctuation and spelling.
  • You'll listen to and follow short spoken instructions.
  • You'll speak clearly to communicate basic information.
  • You'll identify key information in signs, forms, and notices.
  • You'll use English in practical, everyday situations.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at CTS Training (Manvers - Rotherham). Assessment for the City and Guilds Functional Skills Qualification in English (Entry 1) covers reading, writing, and speaking and listening. You'll be assessed through set tasks that test each of these skills. Your tutor will guide you through the work and let you know when you're ready to be assessed.
