About this course

Free BTEC Level 3 Engineering Course in Norwich. Classes run at Ormiston Victory Academy, full-time during the day. You'll need 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English, Maths and Science, to join. The course runs over 2 years and covers engineering principles, problem solving, and applied maths and physics. It carries the same UCAS points as one A Level, so you can use it to apply for an engineering degree, move into an apprenticeship, or go straight into work.

Who this course is for

If you enjoy maths and physics and like problem solving then you may be interested in a career in engineering. It's equivalent to one A level, studied over 2 years which means when you have finished the course you can use it to get a job, or an apprenticeship or you can use it alongside other qualifications for getting into university to study engineering related degree courses.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above including English, Maths and Science or a relevant Level 2 work related qualification.

What you will learn

  • You'll apply mathematical and scientific principles to engineering problems.
  • You'll develop technical drawing and design skills used across engineering disciplines.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions, practical activities, and project work.
