Free BTEC Level 3 Engineering Course in Great Yarmouth. Classes run at East Norfolk Sixth Form College, full-time during the day. This level 3 BTEC engineering qualification covers a broad range of engineering branches, from health and safety to electrical and mechanical principles. You'll study how mathematics is applied to solve real engineering problems. The course runs over 12 months. To join, you'll need a grade 5 or above in combined Sciences or Physics, and a grade 6 or above in Higher tier Maths (or be taking Higher tier Maths alongside the course).
Who this course is for
Engineering the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures. In an overview engineering is a study of how obstructions can be overcome by the application of mathematics. Engineering is a highly diverse area and the course is made up of a variety of topics covering a large range of engineering branches, to give an idea of future careers. Students will study a range of topics ranging from Health and safety to electrical, mechanical and chemical with an emphasis on mathematics.
Entry requirements
A grade 5 in one of the combined Sciences or Physics if triple Science has been taken. A grade 6 in Higher tier Maths unless taking higher tier Maths alongside Engineering.

Assignments are set and marked by the centre, while exams are set and marked by Pearson Edexcel. You'll build a portfolio of work across the units alongside sitting timed assessments.
