About this course

Level 4 IQA Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train while working alongside assessors in your organisation, building the skills to carry out internal quality assurance in practice. This level 4 iqa qualification is delivered over 10 months and suits people already working in assessment or quality roles in accredited or non-accredited learning settings. To complete the full Award, you'll need to be working with assessors so you can demonstrate competence in a real setting.

Who this course is for

The units and qualifications will provide people who carry out assessment and internal quality assurance roles in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualification for the role. They are available to anyone working in: accredited learning; non accredited learning (where people may assess performance but do not assess for a qualification); the NQF and the QCF. They have been developed by LLUK to replace the Assessor and Verifier (A&V) Units. They are designed for use in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is now known as TAQA (Training Assessment Quality Assurance). They reflect the quality assurance of assessment processes and practice of qualifications within Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and provide practitioners with recognition, through qualification, of excellence in quality assurance practice.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for those wishing to undertake these qualifications. However, practitioners will need to be working with assessors in a centre, or organisation, to enable them to demonstrate competence for all the awards except the Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

How you will learn

You learn through your day-to-day work alongside assessors in your organisation. Assessment is competence-based. You'll build a portfolio of evidence drawn from your practice, showing that you can plan, monitor, and evaluate assessment activity. You may also complete written tasks or professional discussions to demonstrate your knowledge. Heart of Yorkshire Education Group will guide you through the requirements over the 10-month programme.
