Level 3 Residential Childcare Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a residential children's home, building the skills and knowledge you need on the job. The course takes around 18 months to complete. You'll cover child development, safeguarding, behaviour support, and the legal frameworks that govern residential care. This is a level 3 residential childcare qualification developed specifically for people working in residential children's homes. This qualification has been developed to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to work within Residential Children’s Homes.
Entry requirements
Learners are expected to have at least basic literacy and numeracy skills.

How you will learn
Learning takes place in your workplace. You'll build a portfolio of evidence drawn from your day-to-day work in a residential children's home. Assessment includes observations of your practice, professional discussions, and written work. A trained assessor will visit you in your workplace to observe and review your progress throughout the 18 months.
