Pearson Edexcel BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Health and Social Care. Study online, at your own pace, over 12 months. This level 3 health and social care course covers human development, safe practice, public health, sociological perspectives, and individual care needs. It carries the same size as 2 A-levels, making it a recognised route into health and social care degree programmes. You'll have an initial assessment in English and maths before you start. If you're aiming for university entry, the provider notes that many universities also ask for GCSEs or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths.

Who this course is for

The BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Health and Social Care is a course for students who have an interest in working in the health and social care sector. This course is equivalent to 2 A-levels and is generally taken alongside one more A-level qualification to enable learners to progress to a degree programme at University in a health and social care related subject.

Entry requirements

All applicants will be required to take an English and Mathematics initial assessment, regardless of previous qualifications.

Universities are increasingly asking for GCSEs or L2 Functional Skills as part of their entry criteria and therefore if you wish to gain admission to university, you may need to enrol on GCSE or L2 Functional Skills English and Maths course.
