Level 3 Car Mechanic Course in Blackpool. Evening classes run at Bispham Campus, one and a half days per week, so you can fit study around work. The course focuses on fault diagnostics and the technical knowledge expected of a motor mechanic or vehicle technician working to industry standards. You must be 19 or over before the course starts in September, and you'll need a relevant Level 2 qualification or at least one year of industry experience. The course takes one year part-time.

This Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course is designed to help you further develop your learning to industry-standards and focuses on the fault diagnostic aspects required of a modern-day Motor Mechanic or Motor Vehicle Technician.

Entry requirements

Mandatory entry requirements: You must be aged at least 19 before the course starts in September; You must have successfully completed a relevant Level 2 qualification, or have at least 1 years industry experience; You must be able to attend one and a half days per/week. Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment.

Assessment is through a combination of written assignments, practical tasks, and knowledge tests aligned to IMI standards. You must be able to wear PPE where required during practical sessions.

The centre will provide most materials. Bispham Campus will confirm anything else you need before you start. You are responsible for ensuring you can wear PPE where it is a mandatory requirement of the course.
