Level 3 Assessing Competence in the Work Environment Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a role where you assess others, putting your learning into practice from day one. The course takes around one year to complete. It covers the skills and knowledge needed to assess occupational competence in real work settings. The level 3 assessing competence in the work environment qualification is awarded by City and Guilds and is recognised by employers who need qualified assessors on their teams.

How you will learn
Assessment is work-based throughout. You build a portfolio of evidence drawn from your day-to-day assessing activity. An assessor observes you carrying out assessments in your workplace and reviews your portfolio. You may also complete written questions to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge.
