Free Level 3 Assessing Competence in the Work Environment Course in Warrington. Classes run at Warrington and Vale Royal College Warrington Campus, part-time during the day. The course runs over 120 hours and suits anyone already working in assessment or moving into an assessment role. You'll cover the knowledge and practice needed to assess learners in work environments across most occupational sectors, whether for accredited or non-accredited programmes. Six knowledge sessions underpin Unit 301, followed by practical workshops. You'll need access to two learners and a countersigning assessor or mentor during training.
Who this course is for
This assessment qualification is designed for people working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment of learners. They are open to people carrying out assessments in most learning environments which include FE, Adult Continuing Learning, Employers and Third Sector. They are designed for anyone assessing in all occupational sectors which includes accredited learning and non-accredited learning. Entry requirements
In order to undertake the practical unit, you will need access to two learners to work with for the work environment unit (302) You will also need a countersigning assessor/mentor whilst you are in training and access to the quality assurer for the programme you are working on. This can be for any accredited or non-accredited qualification. How you will learn
The course combines six underpinning knowledge sessions for Unit 301 with practical workshops. You'll apply your learning directly in your own workplace, assessing real learners as part of Unit 302. A countersigning assessor or mentor supports you throughout your training. You'll also need access to a quality assurer for the programme you are working on. Assessment is through observed practice in the work environment and written evidence of your knowledge.

You will need to arrange access to two learners to assess, a countersigning assessor or mentor, and a quality assurer for the programme you are working on.
