About this course

Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Bristol. Classes run at South Bristol Skills Academy, full-time during the day, over one year. You'll train in industry-inspired salon spaces, guided by award-winning staff. The course covers the practical and professional skills you need to work as a hairdresser, from cutting and colouring to client communication. There are opportunities for work experience, national competitions, and hairdressing events throughout the year. Entry requires 5 GCSEs including English and/or Maths at grade D, plus a strong attendance record and good communication skills.

Who this course is for

Set in fantastic industry-inspired hairdressing salons and under the careful watch of award-winning staff, you will develop skills that will enable you to be a top-notch hairdresser. During your time at College there will be opportunities to participate in work experience, national competitions, visit hairdressing events and take part in photographic competitions. This course will also help you gain and maintain a professional attitude in the work place.

How you will learn

You'll learn through hands-on practical sessions in salon-style training spaces, working on real clients under staff supervision. Assessment includes practical observations, written assignments, and ongoing portfolio work. You'll also take part in work experience placements, giving you time in a working salon environment alongside your classroom-based hairdressing classes.
