Level 2 2D CAD Course in Truro. Evening classes run at Truro College, part-time over 15 weeks. You can fit the 2D CAD classes around your existing job, studying one or two evenings a week. The course builds on some existing computing experience, taking your skills into more advanced territory. You'll learn to create complex 2D sketches, use advanced commands and features, build table-driven parts, and produce presentation-quality drawings that communicate clearly to fabrication teams. This level 2 2D CAD qualification suits people working in or moving toward manufacturing, engineering design, or technical drawing roles.
Who this course is for
This course is ideal if you have some experience in computing, perhaps in manufacturing or engineering design and want to increase your knowledge and skills and progress in your career. By the end of the course you will be able to create complex 2D sketches, create and edit work using complex features and commands, create table driven parts, add additional information to a drawing layout to aid communication to the fabrication teams. Create presentation quality displays of parts and assemblies. You must have some experience in using Solidworks before undertaking this course.
What you will learn
You'll create complex 2D sketches from scratch.
You'll use advanced commands and features to edit and refine drawings.
You'll build table-driven parts within a CAD environment.
You'll add detailed information to drawing layouts to support fabrication teams.
You'll produce presentation-quality displays of parts and assemblies.
You'll develop confidence working with complex CAD tools used in engineering and manufacturing.
How you will learn
Classes are classroom based, with hands-on time at a computer using CAD software each session. You'll work through practical drawing tasks and projects that build in complexity as the course progresses. Assessment is based on the work you produce, including completed drawings and design tasks that demonstrate your ability to use the software's advanced features.
What you will need to bring
The centre will provide most materials. Truro College will confirm anything else you need before you start.
