About this course

Level 1 Safeguarding in Education Course in Liverpool. Classes run at Newsham Drive Adult Centre, part-time during the day over 8 weeks.

The course covers how to recognise signs of abuse and neglect, understand your responsibilities, and know how to report concerns in a learning environment. You do not need to be working in a school or placement to enrol. Before you start, you'll complete a short initial assessment, including a written task and an online assessment, to confirm the level is right for you.

You'll finish with an NCFE Award in Safeguarding in a Learning Environment.

Who this course is for

**This course is free if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £35,864. You will need to bring your proof of this and your ID when you come to enrol.

Entry requirements

To enrol you must complete an initial assessment and pass at Entry 3 or above. The assessment will be a written task and an online BKSB assessment. You do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to enrol on this course.

You'll learn through classroom sessions at Newsham Drive Adult Centre. Teaching is delivered face to face, with group discussion and tutor-led activities. Assessment includes a written task and an online BKSB assessment at enrolment to confirm your starting level. The qualification is assessed through tasks set during the course.

You'll need to bring proof of any benefits or income and a form of ID when you come to enrol. Newsham Drive Adult Centre will confirm anything else you need before you start.
