Level 1 Functional Skills English Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study alongside your job, working with a trainer to build practical English skills over 12 months. The course may be free if you are on an apprenticeship or study programme. Fees may apply for other learners. You will cover letter writing, emails, information leaflets, and different writing techniques. The course ends with a written test and a speaking and listening assessment. This is a recognised GCSE English alternative that many employers accept.
