Level 1 Bricklaying Course in Bristol. Classes run at SGS College Filton Campus, full-time during the day. Fees apply for this course. Students aged 16 to 18 years old pay a significantly reduced fee, and concessions may be available if you are 19 or over. This level 1 bricklaying qualification covers the core skills and knowledge you need to start working in bricklaying. The course runs for 408 hours.
Who this course is for
Most full-time courses at SGS are for learners aged 16-18 with some provision available for those aged 14 plus on request. If you are aged 19 and over then formal qualifications that are a prerequisite for younger age groups may not be suitable. How you will learn
Learning is classroom and workshop based, combining practical bricklaying tasks with underpinning technical knowledge. You'll be assessed through practical assignments and skills observations, demonstrating your ability to carry out bricklaying tasks to the required standard. There may also be written or knowledge-based assessments to confirm your understanding of construction principles, health and safety, and materials.
