A Heavy Vehicle Technician services, inspects and repairs HVs, categorised by the Department of Transport as category N2 or N3. They work in either a dealership that focusses on a particular manufacturer, or for an independent garage, franchise or large fleet operator that deals with many different makes of vehicle.
Entry requirements
To join you'll need to be seeking or already in employment. You must already have or expect to achieve ?grades C or above in Maths and English. Some employers may require you sit an aptitude test as well as an interview and be capable of ultimately learning higher level skills.
